Strengths:
Caring; Alex is empathetic, and caring, she's able to tell how other's are feeling and figure out what they need to help them along. She also forms friendships easily. She's a good friend to have and a shoulder to cry on when people need it.
Self-sacrificing; Alex isn't afraid to put her own needs aside inorder to help someone else achieve their own happiness, and she finds joy in watching people succeed and acomplish their goals.
Strong; Not just physically strong, but also mentally sound. She can handel herself in a stressful situation without freaking out, and is grounded in her beliefe of who she is, she doesn't second guess herself ofte, outside of realtionships.
Creative; Alex is a master at weaving bright colors into everyday life around the gray boring city, she's always thinking up new ways to have fun around the city, to make and cause trouble, she's great at coming up with stories to talk her way out of trouble and coming up with escape routes and thinking outside of the box.
Weaknesses:
Stubborn; Alex is one of the most stubborn people to ever wonder these city streets, she's set in her ways, her ruetines and her thought patterns, she's not big on people questioning hr or trying to make her think about things another way.
Impulsive; Thinking things all the way threw is not a strong suit of Alex's, she's a big fan of half making plans and acting her way threw and figuring out things as they come up rather than planning. She doesn't always think about the consiquences of her actions.
Self-Sacrficing; While a strength, it's also a weakness, since Alex has on more than one occasion passed someone else's happiness before her own. She has a hard time acting on her own happiness and being greedy, she'd rather let other's be happy than herself.
Flighty; While Alex is perfectly capable of holding her own in a fight, and most of the city knows this, she's horrible at dealing with her own emotional issues. When it comes to a big emotional issue, instead of fighting for her own happiness, or possibly talking about it, Alex tends to run away and avoid problems.
Goals: To do something great with her life.
Fears: To fail someone around her and not be there for them when they need her. Oblivion. Death.
Secrets: That she was once married.
Likes: Bright colors, techno music, ballet, playing pool, friends, being there for people, cooking, making her house a home for other people, giving people a sense of family.
Dislikes: The color gray, anything lifeless or souless, rooms with nothing on the walls, talking without emotions, lying, being mad, people around her being upset.
Overall Personality:
Alex was the kid in class, who could never sit still during a test when everyone was supposed to be quiet. That one who sat in the corner and stared out the window day dreaming while simutaliously shaking her leg hard enough her chair or desk moved everytime and made it hard for everyone to think, or that girl who was always clicking or tapping her pen making nosie, at the best of times drawing on her arms and hands with sharpies she pulled out of thin air no matter how many the teacher's confiscated from her. She's always been this bright and big ball of energy, always in constant motion constantly doing things and going places. Growing up hasn't taken this from her, she's still always jittery, and nervous and moving and doing odd things with her hands, and standing in awkward positions without a care in the world about what anyone else thought about her.
All of that is just surface level stuff though, underneath all of the engery and bright pink hair, Alex is actually mature. She doesn't always think things threw about every possible way, and she doesn't like to make plans for the future. But she's one of those people who knows exactly what she wants for her life, a family. She's one of the best people you could ever have as your friend, loyal to the bone, and always willing to put you and everyone else before herself. Her main concern is helping people, in whatever way she possibly can. She'll do anything to help others, but she doesn't give herself a second thought most of the time.
If you can sit down with Alex before she goes to sleep, or in the dark, or somewhere when she stops hiding behind happiness and bubbliness, when she's not thinking about everyone but herself for once. Alex is scared inside all of the time, she's terrified of losing everyone in her life, that someday they'll outgrow her, that someday they'll leave, that someday someone will tell her she wasn't enough for them. She's scared that if she doesn't do everything for everyone, than she'll have no one. She doesn't think highly of herself outside of who she is inside of the gang, and how hard she can throw a punch, she doesn't believe she deserves a lot of happiness and she doesn't go out looking for it.
all reason aside i just can't deny, love the guy...
Hometown: NYC.
History:
As a child Alex was believe it or not, even more energetic than she is today, and even more filled with energy. So it was extremely odd for kids to come inside from recess for lunch to discover that Alex was sitting down already finished with her food and eating dessert instead of playing outside. She hadn't been feeling well that day, little did she know she was about to get sick. That was the day Matt aproached her and sat beside her and teased her about missing recess and having fun. Two days later the both of them were sent to the nurses' office with Chicken Pox, which Alex still blames him for giving her to this day. Their parents arrived at the same time and thought that while both of the children were sick it wouldn't hurt to let them be sick togther. Alex spent a week over at Matt's house where she met Nick, and Giana and Matt's parents.
Matt and Alex were two peas in a pod from that week on, best friends forever. Alex grew attached to their house during the week she'd spent there sick and ended up spending enough time at the house afterwars that the Guest room was decorated in her drawing's and things, a nonverbal agreement between everyone that it was Alex's room. Of course as things go, Alex grew up and so did Matt and his brother Nick with whom Alex was in love with.
Nick and Alex's relationship was never a simple affair. She'd been his younger brother's best friend, and his brother's crush, and his friend, than when he'd jumped in with the Irish she'd followed him, and they were gang memebers togther. It was threw the gang, that Nick started to feel something else for Alex, they attempted to make their relationship work for four years to feed into her childish delusion, but with the birth of their children the illusion crumbled.
Alex, a fear that someday she wouldn't be there, wouldn't be by his side, would just leave him. Alex lived in that fear that someday they'd lose each other, with the twin's on their way, it seemed the logical thing to do to put those fears out of each other's minds, so they had a courthouse marriage. Alex married the man she'd been in love with since she was nine years old, she had babies on the way everything should have been perfect, instead it all fell apart. Marriage strained them harder than it ever had before, and the birth of the twins instead of bringing them together was the final straw. Alex and Nick seperated six months after the birth of the twins.
Joint custody was agreed, one week a peace, they'd keep the twins together, and would see each other minimally. Alex has been living with this now, trying to figure out who she is after her dream was shattered.
Roleplay Sample:
Silence was Matt's way. He couldn't count on his two hands alone, how many days, or weeks, or even months, nor how many bouts of silence he'd had. Most people lived with their voice free they didn't bother to spend to much time thinking about it, letting it free into the world, it was as natural as breathing for them, but Matt was different. His voice didn't naturally come out of him, it naturally crawled inside of him and hid away inside of his body. He'd never minded the silence before in his life, he's always thought it was something nice, but now every sound was to loud without the base setting of his voice. When he opened to speak, it wasn't like before where his voice could be coaxed out with thoughts and kind smiles. Instead it felt like ripping it out.
Maybe it was the extra gravel in his voice from weeks spent in total silence, or the way his throat didn't seem to remember how to push extra air out to make the sounds, how his tongue was heavy like there was a rock holding it down. All of it added so much energy to get those sounds out, and the sound that came out, his voice, was still so small, and shaky. It was rough and worn, sad and small, it was everything he felt he was now, but that he didn't want anyone to know, but he couldn't hide it. He felt like he'd been torn in two, and his voice was like an open wound in his chest, some hole he'd opened and grabbed the object and pulled it out. He didn't say anything, looking down at his hands like he could see his voice if he stared at his hand long enough before Casi broke his train of thoughts by moving his hair from his eyes.
It was such a simple action, but there was something tender in it, something so forgein to Matt, but something he knew he'd been searching for, he didn't look away from Casi, looking into his eyes, as tears welled at his words. He shook his head back and forth quickly, there was nothing this man could do, there was nothing Matt could do, nothing anyone could do. "I fucked up, and now he's gone." the words poured out of his mouth, as the tears cascaded down his cheeks, his hands cletched into fist nails digging into his palms trying to ground himself in the pain. He didn't know why he wanted to explain to Casi what had happened with him and Beau and Kellin, he couldn't explain why he wanted to cry and fall into his man's shoulder and be held, he couldn't explain any of it, but he knew he didn't feel scared of this stranger, and that the normal sense to run when someone talked to him wasn't there. "He left me." Matt's lips slipped again and allowed the words to come out.
