A nod. Not that it wasn't expected. As she'd pointed out, the guy didn't really have much to barter with. She smiled a little at his question, and it was certainly not a friendly one. “ Oh, something fitting I think. Hopefully you're a good shot, even with a shoulder out of commission.” she said simply, her narrow shoulders shrugging. She picked up her gun, clicking open the magazine and emptying all the bullets. The dropped with a smattering of pings onto the desk. She picked one up, examining it before carefully putting it back into the chamber and closing the clip. She held the gun loosely in her hand, waiting for vinny to come back. She was looking at her hand, picking at a bit of blood stuck under a manicured nail. She really shouldn't had pressed into his wound, she hated blood under her finger nails.
Vinny came back in, lead by a nervous looking guard. Cordelia looked at the man, even the mean smile gone from her face as she regarded him coldly. “ Tell me, what is it you do here?” she asked. The man stuttered for a minute before answering.. ” night guard mam...” he siad nervously. “ And who is this man” she asked, pointing to the chair. The guard gulped before muttering something. “” he swallowed hard “ I don't know mam.” she walked over, puttin her hand on the theif's uninjured soldier. “ Well, I'll tell you. He works for the Connor's. And he was here to steal from us. And was doing so quite sucessfully. While you were sitting on your ass joking.” she spat. “ Now, do you think this is acceptable?” the man shook his head, looking down at the ground. Cordelia nodded and put the gun on the stranger's lap. As soon as she did, Vinny has his gun out and aimed at him as Cordelia stepped back. “ Go on then. Prove yourself”

Austin frowned some when her words left her lips. She wanted him to shoot someone. Great. He'd already killed a drug dealer. He was less than an innocent man but still. How many people was he gonna have to kill before he could get Conner behind bars for good. He watched her unload her gun, dumping all the bullets on the floor. Then picking up one and putting it in the gun. He had to admit she was smart. Cause if given the chance he'd shoot her and her goon. But given only one bullet he was sure he was going to have to shoot whoever she wanted him to shoot. That's how it was going to work. And hopefully being right handed and wounded he could still shoot to her expectations.
Then Vinny was bringing in one of the guards he'd so easily made it passed. And then Cordelia's questioning started. And it was easy to see that the man was clearly afraid of her. And he should be because he was about to be severely punished. When she put the gun on his lap he looked down at it. Something he was used to using to uphold the law was about to something he used to take someone's life. "Just to be specific .. You're asking me to kill him." He let his right hand loosely take hold of the gun. Really there was no need for Vinny's gun he wasn't even sure if he could point it and shoot at the same time yet.

Cordelia stepped back from him, eye brows raised, waiting to see how the guy reacted. Killing people wasn't easy. Personally, she had only actually killed a three herself, though many more had died at her word. Still, it never was simple. She never really liked doing it, but sometimes, you can't avoid it. Send a message or someone will use you to send one of their own. Felix's father had instilled that in her, the first time she flinched at giving the order to have someone taken out. You let them get away with it now, they will bite you in the ass later. Don't flinch kiddo, just do what needs to be done. his words still echoed. It was important, and words she didn't forget, even when she wanted to just turn the other cheek. Her thoughts had gotten away from her for a moment. The important thing was, killing wasn't easy, and it still touched the most jaded on some level. If this guy was willing to put a bullet into someone, then while she couldn't trust him, she'd at least know he was serious.
She ignored the shivering and whimpering from the guard. She had too, there was no room for pity or secnd guessing. Besides, he knew what was coming. When you work for her, you knew that a small fuck up wasn't tolerated. A giant fuck up, like letting some asshole walk into the building while you sat around and did nothing, was simply unacceptable. There really was only one reaction, and the guard knew it. Kudos for him, not beginning for his life, at least he'd go out with some dignity. “ You seem like a mildly intelligent man. Figure it out.” she said simply, the words “kill him' would never actually come out of her mouth. Self preservation, she didn't tell him to do anything after all.

Austin was a good man with a good heart. Obviously the guys in charge at the station saw what ever it took to be an under cover agent in him. At the moment he wasn't exactly sure what that was. But before he left for assignment his boss had sat him down and told him to do what he needed to do to survive. He didn't know if that meant killing people or what. At the moment that sentence was kind of vague. Austin wasn't the kind of guy would could kill someone. That's why he was a cop. He was a good guy. Not a monster like Cordelia. She had told him to figure it out. Meaning yes that's what he was supposed to do.
He slowly stood from the chair. His left hand holding his bleeding shoulder. His eyes looked to the security guard. They were something like sympathetic as he looked at the man. He moved his arm up to aim. A jolt of pain running through his body. He put it back down. He took a few deep breaths working through his pain. Then he re-aimed. He put his finger on the trigger. All he had to do was find the strength to squeeze. He swallowed some. His hand shook as he squeezed the trigger. But then it was just done. The bullet was ripping through the guard and Austin was dropping the gun, then his arm. He was in a lot of pain in that moment.

Cordelia watched the man's movement as he lifted the gun. She wasn't entirely sure he was going to do it, for all his smart ass comments, he didn't look like he had the stones to take someone out. But, rare as it was, the woman was wrong on occasion. She watched impassive as the guard fell and the intruder dropped the gun. He looked like he was in pain, which was to be expected she supposed. She walked over, stepping around the fallen guard, avoiding the blood slowly spreading across the ground. She looked down at the body before clicking her fingers. “ Deal with it Vinny.” she said, putting her hand to the inside pocket of her jacket and pulled out a kerchief. She crouched down and picked up the gun, careful not to touch it with her bare hands. You never know when she'd need a murder weapon with his finger prints on it.
“ Huh. Didn't think you had the balls to do it. ” she said putting the gun back on the desk. She spoke as vinny left the room, pulling out his phone, calling the clean up crew. It just wouldn't do to have a blood stain across the floor. “ You're looking a little rough around the edges now though. Buck up pussy.” she said with an eyeroll. She walked to the other side of the desk, booting up the computer. She put her feet up the desk as the computer turned on. “ Sit down. I don't want to fucking deal with you if you pass out.”

Austin held his shoulder while she studied his victim then she was picking up the gun and telling Vinny to take care of the guard. He felt bad for what he just did. But he was told to do what he had to do and to come back in one piece. He wanted out of this assignment so bad. So bad. He was tired of the risk of the lies. Of having to do things like this to stay afloat. "Now you know I'm serious" He swallowed some. He moved back a little and sat back down in the chair he'd been sitting in. Hopefully she'd keep her side of things and get him what he needed now that he'd done what she said to prove himself.
He wasn't exactly sure how much of this woman's word he could trust. Though again right now it didn't matter. She had the upper hand and he was hurting. And bleeding fast. Bleeding a lot. There wasn't much he could do. His eyes watched her while the computer turned on. "Don't you ever get tired of this life. Of torturing people?" Most of them innocent like that guard she'd had him shoot. Sure he'd been caught trying to steal from her so he was less innocent but the police were supposed to punish law breakers thats why people called them and that guard .. she could have just fired him, from his job not his life.

Cordelia dropped her legs, leaning forward and typing quickly on the keyboard, pulling up a few files. She glanced up at the man as he spoke, her lip curling. “ Sorry asshole, not really feeling having some big hear to heart with you. ” she said as she clicked print. Of course she got tired of it sometimes, she didn't get joy out of the dead guy at her feet, or torturing people. What she did get joy out of was the power, and the position, it just so happened that her power came from the fear that had been built up through her family. What was a girl to do? She stood from the chair, walking over to the printer, pulling out the sheet of paper. Pretty similar to the one the guy had shoved in his pocket before, the difference was this one wasn't for some shit sandwhich meat. This was the real deal. Not a big shipment, and frankly, if it meant getting an in to the Connor organization, she was down with loosing a couple grand worth og product. She folded the sheet and turned back to him. “ but for arguments sake, lets just say you can't help what you're born into, I can't help this anymore than you can help being a dumb fuck.” she said, tucking the printout into his jacket pocket.
She stepped back and observed the guy. “ That should help you cozy up to ol Patrick.” she said, leaning against the desk again, picking up the gun and loading the bullets back in. “ You know, they are never going to believe you walked out of here so unharmed.” She said, lifting the gun and aiming it at him. “ we'll fix that.” Though she sounded cooly logical about it, she was truthfully angry about the torture comment. Without a second thought she shot the gun, seending a second bullet into his leg. She didn't bat an eyelash as she turned to Vinny. “ Let's go.”
